I lied about going to Venice today. Its actually tomorrow. We must be anxious. Most everyone hung around the farm and prepared to move on tomorrow.
Late in the day, some of us started talking about going out to dinner. We were interested in trying a new place. Jerry, even though he didn't come, told us about a place just down the road that we might like. Five of us eventually headed down there.
The restaurant sat beside a fort that operates as a Bed and Breakfast. Inside the restaurant, it is decorated in what I would call rustic modern: high ceilings, rough hewn beams, and bare, rock walls.
NOTE to the reader:
There should be more pictures, but I'm having slow wi-fi problems and can't get them right now. Maybe later.
The food was very different from what we had been eating for the last two weeks. Both Linda and I had a Bar-B-Q sandwich on some really good bread that we ate part of. And the house wine was excellent too.
Then, we headed back to the farm and said our goodbyes, because our closest friends would be heading out very early tomorrow morning to catch various flights out of Rome.
This time we really were prepared to drive to Venice the next day - no lying.
