Tuesday dawns with sunny skies and open stores. We walk up to town. I say "up", because we are in a valley and everything is up.
Linda wants to find some pro-biotics. We were able to communicate with the clerk at the Farmacia and Linda also bought some digestives derived from papaya.
Two times we were approached by a group of kids, maybe 12 or 13 years old, who wanted to know what we wished for. It took a little time to get their message and respond. We told them it was to be here in Ponte di Legno. They wanted to know my name and that was easily communicated. We were not able to figure out why they were working on this project. They said it was not because of school, but couldn't tell us why they were doing it. It was fun trying to talk to them.
We found pretty little places around town.
There are two mountain streams that meet in the middle of town and form the Oglio.
That may be the reason that the town is here.
We stop at the town square for a coffee and watch those groups of kids hang around. Why are they not in school? Maybe its summer vacation. We're not sure about Italy, but in Holland, the kids get 4 or 6 weeks, not quite sure, but not as long as in the States.
On the way back to the apartment, we stop at the Big Market. That's its name - a decent size grocery store and pick up some meat and veggies.
In the afternoon, the clouds roll in, the rain comes and we stay inside. Linda fixes pork chops and cauliflower for dinner.
