June 13:

All of a sudden the iCloud and our internet connection are working better. So, for the time being, we have pictures.

With the weather iffy but a little sunny, we go for a walk down a very nice paved bike/walking path. The goal is to spend some time in the woods and watch how the clouds color the mountains.

There are exercise stops along the way: bars for chin ups, balance beams, and rings to aid in stretching. At one of them there was this broom to be used as a lifting device.

Farther down the path, we came upon a worker sweeping the trail with one of these. Looks like something out of Harry Potter.

Then, we passed by an old ski jump landing area. A board showed pictures of it in use from the 1920's through the 1940's. And Linda got acquainted with a commemorative stone of a victory in the 1948 Olympics.

The views were just drop dead gorgeous.

There was a natural turn around after about an hour. Time to use the selfie stick.

On the way back, the sun was out and we sat on a bench by the stream and wrote separately in our journals and did some meditating. A really good place to do both.

Once back at the resort, we decided to checkout the restaurant next door. It was 3:00 and we were lucky they were open. We were the only ones there, but they were quite willing to serve us. They even had an English language menu. I had a large pork chop and a side of french fries. Linda had two deer steaks and we shared a side of mixed, grilled vegetables. The meat was extremely tender and very tasty. The waiter asked me if medium was ok and I said yes, but he didn't ask Linda how she wanted her meat cooked. But, she was quite happy with what she got: rare.

The rest of the day was painting for Linda and reading and writing for me. Here's some of her practice with olive trees and a window.
