Friday, July 10

Checked out of the hotel and went shopping before we left Maastricht. We stopped for a coffee first.

Then, around the corner and into market square, was an outdoor market. Really big.

Vegetables from around the world (Israel, Italy, Spain, Ghana, Belgium, and Thailand).

Linda searched for a top and a pair of pants but just couldn't find the right thing.

Back in the car we decided to tell the Garmin to use secondary roads to get back to Soest. These roads kept us in Belgium and we travelled through lots of small towns.

We kept seeing this sign. Where's the beach?

Little towns and different kinds of cows.

We know we're back in Holland because the beautiful bike paths have reappeared.

After about almost an hour, we found ourselves back on a big road and after 2 more hours we were back in Soest. We stopped at Lage Vuursche for a pancake.

And we tried two more beers and found both of them just fine.

Donald Duck was guarding the toilets.

Along the road we kept passing vintage cars. Europeans seem to love old cars.

We also saw an old Jaguar convertible that was beautiful. Didn't get a picture of it. Same with a couple of VW Bugs.

Back at the house, we unloaded the car and took out the wine.

Now we're in Soest for the rest of our trip to Europe and plan to stay here except for day trips. No more packing of suitcases until we leave for the US in early August.
