June 16:

If you want to walk around this community, you need to dodge the raindrops. In the early afternoon, Linda decided we need to take a walk before the rains came. We headed out in the opposite direction than what we had been using. We very quickly ran out of a path and crossed the main road by stepping over (I almost said jumped) the guardrail and wadding through some tall grass to get to the walking path. We expected the path to turn and circle back into town and that's exactly what happened.

We came upon this fort and a cow all by herself.

Linda wanted to find a way into the place until I found a sign that stated very clearly that it was private property and no trespassing was allowed. So, we continued on. At first, it looked like a relatively small structure. But as we continued along and toward the rear, it became obvious it was much larger than we first thought. The wall enclosed at least one house, maybe more and lots of grounds.

When you walk around an area like this, you come across things like this.

We continued walking through a mixed residential and restaurant area. For the most part, it looked like the poor part of town but charming sometimes, like this home.

I thought it looked a little like a Tudor style structure. As we approached town we passed houses that are prepared for the cold weather.

We finally arrived in town.

Notice the changing sky and clouds - these pictures were taken within five minutes of each other.

And sat again in the main square and drank a coffee.

On the way down one of the streets on our way back to the resort, we passed a realty office. We always like to look. This time we see this ad for the fort that we just walked past.

So, here's a scenario - we sell our US properties, buy this place, and open it as a bed and breakfast. Hmmm, what do you think? Anyone want to join it?

On our walk back to our apartment we pass flowers like these. Don't know what they are, but pretty.

Later we need some dinner and decide to walk downstairs to the adjacent restaurant. We start with an order of carpaccio and then share a pizza with lots of meat on it and 1/2 liter of red wine.

A nice quiet, leisurely day.
