Its Saturday and the weather is just beautiful - high 60's, sunny, with a gentle breeze. We leave the apartment after Lynda and Frank and head for Harrod's department store. The plan was to walk across Waterloo Bridge and then catch the #9 bus on the Strand. We get to the Strand and half of it is closed. Today is the Gay Pride Parade and its just about to start. We walk as far as we can and cross the street and decide to stop and just watch the party. This parade is really big. Later, someone told us there were 30,000 people in the parade. There must have been at least that many watching. Years ago we had watched the Gay Pride Parade in Washington, D.C., but this was much, much bigger.

Eventually, we make our way down a couple of streets and actually catch the #9 bus and get to Harrod's. After browsing some, we stop in their Godiva Chocolate Cafe for an espresso and one piece of flourless chocolate cake. The espressos came quickly but the cake took forever and it wasn't that good. Quite a disappointment. We both agreed that we can do much better with quality and price in Soest.

Because of the parade, we took the Underground back and walked along the river.

For dinner all four of us took RV1 bus to the Borough Market and ate at The George Pub and Inn. Very historic - originally built in the late 1500's, the largest inn in London and serviced Shakespeare and Dickens plus others. Linda ate fish and chips, duhh!!!, and I had a burger and beers, of course.

Once back in the apartment, we tried to watch The Full Monty DVD, but I couldn't figure out how to get the TV to the right station. We ended up watching Die Hard III for a while until it got too silly.
