July 5:

First full day of a visit is usually slow and we're slow anyway, so everything was ok. The rain was back too.

Tuesday is market day in Baarn and Linda considers it a must to visit. We drove over and bought cooked chicken, produce, and vitamins. Linda knows the vitamin guy and talks to him and his son who is getting tall. Besides the vitamins, the guy sells her a vial of liquid cannabis for aches and pains. We'll see what happens to that.

Linda always looks at the clothes but they usually don't have her size.

Lunch was across the street so we could try out a cafe we had never been to before.

We debated whether or not to sit outside because of intermittent rain. Inside won and kept us dry.

I had chicken satay, Linda had an uitsmijter, and the Bauer's both had carpaccio. And beer for everyone - good meal and pleasant service.

We drove back to the house and then walked down to de Verkeley bakery to have sweets and coffee. What a lovely way to spend the day - eating.

Dan and I left the girls to shop and we walked back to the house.

The girls shopped at Rossini. The owner is running a sale for buy one, get one free. He is trying to clear out all the women's clothes because women are too hard to please. They have a tendency to buy two or three items and then return two of them. Got to get out of that business. Too expensive.

Dinner was some of the chicken and veggies that we bought at the market.

This was the way to spend a day in the Netherlands, even with rain.
