Had the alarm set for 7:00 so we could attend Noor's field hockey game. Liesbeth took us over at 8:05. It was 48 degrees and probably a 10 mph wind. We were wearing lots of layers.
Linda got to try out a new sweater my sister, Cherry Lynn, had given her.
And then she added one of Joke's jackets. With the scarf and the hat, she was ready and it worked. She didn't suffer much.
It was fun to see 9 year old girls swinging their sticks and hitting the ball down the field. Noor was assigned the goal keeper position. Usually, she is one of the attackers and she's pretty good at it.
They play 25 minute halves with about a 15 minute half-time. That was about as long as we could take.
Noor wanted to come over as soon as we returned so, we put her to work sweeping and dusting to get ready for Deb and Ray. After a snack, we sent her home and walked down to town for some sweets and veggies to stock the kitchen.
Then it was off to Schipol. Lots of traffic and construction on the A1 and A9. Deb and Ray came out into the Arrivals Hall just about when they should have. We took a detour through Hilversum to avoid the traffic and stopped at Lage Vuusche for impressive scenery and Dutch pancakes. We had bacon and shared a sweet apple one.
After eating, we walked the length of the town and around the cemetery of the little church where the prince is buried.
After that it was home and Deb, Ray, and Linda walked down to De Lindenof for a drink. I stayed behind to read and work on this blog.
They met a waitress named Floor. She made a joke of her name. The girls shared Prosecco with Apple Jack liquor. They had a good time.
